Wrestling Finishes Third at AMC Championships
FORTH WORTH, Texas - The Williams wrestling team finished third at the AMC Championships on Saturday with a score of 59.5.
Missouri Baptist claimed their first AMC Championship with a score of 87.5, following closely behind in second place was Central Baptist with a score of 80.0. Lyon College finished in fourth place with a score of 50.0 and Health Sciences & Pharmacy came in fifth with a score of 4.0.
Isaiah Vizcarrondo (141) and Kendric Gordon (197) finished in third place in their weight class. Ross Womack (149) and Kade Carter (174) finished in sixth place in their weight class. Alzarius Boykins (157) finished in fourth in his weight class.
The conference also announced their season awards at the conclusion of the meet. Kade Carter and Isaiah Vizcarrondo were named to the All-Conference Team, Carter for his weight class of 174 and Vizcarrondo with an at-large place.
The wrestlers will find out on Monday if they receive bids to participate in the NAIA National Tournament on March 3-4 in Wichita, Kan.
