Lady Eagles Go 0-2 On First Day in Oklahoma

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - The Williams softball team opened up their season with two 8-0 losses at the hand of Oklahoma Wesleyan on Monday afternoon.

Game One

The Lady Eagles got the bases juiced in the top of the first inning after Shelby Jones reached on an error, Megan Weis singled, and Kennedy Johnson walked, but they weren't able to bring anyone home. That would be the only action on the bases that Lady Eagles saw in the first game as they went three up and three down the rest of the game.

Weis had the Lady Eagles lone hit in the game.

Angel Gillette got the start and pitched 4.2 innings, giving up seven runs off ten hits. Tori Kierbach pitched in relief and gave up one run off one hit.

Game Two

The second game of the doubleheader wasn't much kinder to the Lady Eagles, but they did get three hits in the game. Jones, Alyssa Cordell, and Kaydra Cole all had singles in the game.

Kierbach got the start and pitched 3.1 innings, giving up eight runs off ten hits. Cassidi Doyle pitched 2/3 of an inning in relief and gave up one hit.
