Eagles Drop Doubleheader at DII Ouachita Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Williams Baptist baseball team dropped a double header at NCAA DII Ouachita Baptist on Tuesday afternoon. They lost game one 4-3 and game two 7-0.

Game One

The Eagles got things going in the first when Dezmond Cordova (FR/Little Rock, Ark.) scored on an RBI fielder's choice by Nick Allred (SO/Portageville, Mo.). They doubled their lead in the fourth when Garrison Keene (JR/New Madrid, Mo.) scored after Jacob Brown (SR/Pinson, AL) reached on a throwing error by the pitcher. Then the tigers scored two in home half of the fourth to tie the game. The Eagle took the lead back in the sixth inning when Keene scored on Brady Smith (SO/Cave City, Ark.)'s RBI single. Again, the Tigers tied it again in the home half of the inning, and then walked it off in the seventh.

Palmer Campbell (SO/New Madrid, MO) went 3-4 in the game, while Keene went 2-3.

Cash Forrester (FR/Newport, Ark.) got the start on the mound and pitched 5.1 innings. He gave up three runs off four hits, walked three, and struck out four. Alex O'Brien (FR/Marion, Ark.) pitched 0.0 innings of relief and gave up one hit and walked one. Brady Sterns (FR/Paragould, AR) pitched 1.0 inning of relief and gave up one run off one hit.

Game Two

The second game was not kind to the Eagles as they collected only two hits: from Cordova and Andrew Cooper (JR/Paragould, Ark.).

Jimmy Watson (FR/White House, Tenn.) got the start and pitched 2.0 innings. He gave up four runs off five hits, walked two, and struck out one. Caiden McFadden (JR/Paragould, Ark.) pitched 1.1 innings of relief and gave up three runs off three hits. Eric Tolar (SO/Jonesboro, La.) pitched 2.2 innings of relief and gave up two hits and struck out one.

The Eagles host Hannibal-LaGrange for a four game series on Friday and Saturday, with doubleheaders on each day. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
