Eagles Picked to Finish Fourth in AMC Preseason Coaches' Poll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (1/25/24) - The Williams Baptist University baseball team was picked to finish fourth in the American Midwest Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The Eagles gathered 28 votes in the poll, enough to finish narrowly above fifth place Central Baptist with 27.  Missouri Baptist was chosen to finish first with 47 votes, Columbia picked to finish second with 45 votes, and William Woods elected to finish third with 36 votes.

WBU finished 24-27 overall and 11-10 in conference play last season, good enough for a fourth place finish.  The Eagles fell to Central Baptist in the AMC Tournament to end the season.

The Eagles return key players to leadership roles, including Noah Willingham, Jacob Watkins, Nick Jones, and Skylar Morrison.

WBU will open the regular season with a four game set in Springfield, Mo. against Evangel.  The team will begin the season with a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 2 with first pitch set for 12 PM.
