WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (4/24/25) – The Williams Baptist University baseball team concluded its 2025 season on Thursday afternoon after being swept by Mission in a doubleheader by the final scores of 12-2 and 8-5 at Shell Field.

The Eagles conclude the season with a 23-26 overall record and 14-22 record in conference play.

Ethan Mannion (1-2, RBI) and Luke Bullins (2-2, RBI) led the way at the plate for the Eagles in game one.  Mission jumped in front with two runs in the first.  The Patriots extended the lead to 5-0 after plating three in the top of the fourth.

Both Williams runs came in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Ethan Mannion drove in Zephaniah Singleton with a single, and Luke Bullins beat out an infield hit to bring home Mason Andrews to cut the lead to four.

MU went on to score six unanswered runs across the sixth and seventh, including a three-run homer and two-run homer from Sam Golden in the sixth and seventh, respectively, to clinch the series by the final score of 12-2.

Skylar Morrison (4-4) took the loss and Jude Tenny (3-1) took the win on the mound for Mission.

Nicholas Jones (2-4, RBI) and Jacob Watkins (1-4, 2 RBI) led the charge on offense in game two of the doubleheader.

After Mission struck for five runs in the first, Jones and Watkins each responded with RBI singles to cut the lead to three.

MU scored two in the second and one more in the third to take an 8-1 lead after three, but WBU put a stop to the Patriot offense after that.

Jacob Eubanks tossed three strong innings in relief, allowing only one run on three hits.  Parker Jeffries also threw 1.2 innings and allowed only one walk while striking out four.

Kaeden Kennedy drove in a run with a single and Mari Thomas brought him home on a sacrifice fly to cut the lead to four in the fourth.  Watkins drove in another run in the seventh, but WBU was unable to mount a comeback in the final game of the season.
