WBU Falls to Trinity Christian in Series Finale

PARAGOULD, Ark. (2/7/26) – The Williams Baptist University baseball team dropped the rubber match of its three-game series against Trinity Christian by the final score of 6-2 at Bruce Hunt Field on Saturday afternoon.

Lawson Aaron led the way at the plate for WBU after collecting three hits with an RBI and a run scored.  Gavin Mink, Connor Brinkley, and Kaeden Kennedy also tallied hits in the contest.

After TCC struck first for runs in the third and fourth, WBU scored its first run of the game on a double from Lawson Aaron in the bottom of the fourth.  Later in the frame, Aaron came around to tie the game at two after advancing to third on a passed ball and scoring on a wild pitch.

The Trolls took the lead again with an RBI single in the sixth, and added on with two more runs in the seventh to go up 6-2.  The Eagles threatened with two runners on in the ninth, but failed to push any across to drop the series.

Brock McNeil (0-1) was tagged with the loss on the mound for WBU, while Kellen Hershberger (1-0) took the win for Trinity.

The loss drops WBU to 1-2 on the season.  The Eagles return to the diamond for the first two of a four-game set against Blue Mountain Christian on Friday, Feb. 13.  First pitch of game one is set for noon from Shell Field.
