Eagles Sweep Buffaloes in Doubleheader

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (4/7/26) – The Williams Baptist University baseball team completed the season sweep over Arkansas Baptist with two wins at Shell Field on Tuesday afternoon.

GAME ONE - Williams 8, Arkansas Baptist 7

Cade Parks (2-3, RBI) and Will Riley (3-4, 2B) led the way at the plate for WBU in the comeback win.

ABC got on the board first with a run in the bottom of the second, but Connor Brinkley matched with a solo homer to tie the game at 1-1.

Williams took the lead in the bottom of the third when Cade Parks scored on an error.  The Buffaloes responded with a six-run top of the fourth inning to go ahead 7-2. Bodey Ellis homered to left to make it 7-3 after four innings.

A Parker Cook RBI single kicked off the bottom of the sixth, then Gavin Mink and Lawson Aaron both drew bases-loaded walks to complete the three-run rally and cut the lead to 7-6.

Down a run in the seventh, ABC retired the first two Eagles hitters to get Williams down to its final out.  Noah Pelcha drew a lead-off walk, then Will Riley singled to put two runners on.

Cade Parks singled to score the tying run, then Will Riley scored on a wild pitch one batter later to give WBU a walk-off win in game one.

Brady Swims (W, 2-0) earned the win after tossing three shutout innings with just one hit allowed.  Brevin Carlisle threw 2.0 solid innings to start the game with just one run allowed.

GAME TWO - Williams 18, Arkansas Baptist 5 (5 INNINGS)

Skylar Morrison (2-3, 4 RBI, HR) and Lawson Aaron (1-1, 2 RBI) led the Eagles' offense in game two of the doubleheader.

Williams struck big in the bottom of the first with seven runs behind two-run singles from Skylar Morrison and Bodey Ellis.

The Eagles kept their foot on the gas with another eight runs in the second to take a 15-0 lead.

ABC scored two in the fourth and three in the fifth, but were unable to mount a comeback as the game was called in five innings.

Blaine Sullinger (W, 1-0) allowed just one hit in 3.0 shutout innings.  Coleton Payton and Gaige Zaffarano each threw an inning in relief.

The wins move WBU to 24-15 overall.  Next, the Eagles will round out the home slate with a three-game series against Crowley's Ridge.  The first pitch of Game 1 is set for noon on Friday, April 10, at Shell Field.
