Cheer Announces Date for Open Tryouts

Walnut Ridge, Ark. - The Williams Baptist University cheerleading program has announced it will have open tryouts on March 9.

Head Coach Emily Wisby requests that participants arrive at the WBU Athletic Annex by 9 a.m. The annex is located at 407 Fulbright Ave., on the eastern edge of the WBU campus. It is building #7 on the WBU campus map, which can be found at https://williamsbu.edu/campus-map/.

It is recommended that participants wear either a WBU top with black shorts, or a shirt in the WBU school colors of blue and white, along with black shorts. The athletes will also need to wear either cheerleading shoes or regular tennis shoes.

The tryout is open to high school or junior college students interested in furthering their education while being on the cheer team. The program has scholarships available.

The schedule will be:

9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. - Session I

12:00 p.m. -1:30 p.m. - Break for Lunch

1:30 p.m. - Judging
