Eagles Take Down Trojans 87-78

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - Williams Baptist men's basketball defeated the Hannibal-LaGrange Trojans 87-78 on Saturday afternoon.

The first half was a close, back-and-forth affair. The Trojans were able to build up an eleven-point lead but the Eagles were able to chip away until the end of the first half, which saw EJ Anderson (FR/Little Rock, Ark.) make a spectacular shot from the Trojans' side of the court that banked in at the halftime buzzer.

The Eagles then came out strong on the offensive end in the second half, but it still remained a close, back-and-forth game for most of the second half. The Eagles took the lead for good off a Brayden Brewer (SR/Piggott, Ark.) three-pointer with 3:09 left in the game. Cortez King (SR/Chicago, Ill.) scored nine of his point in the final 2:25 of the game.

Butters recorded his tenth double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

King led the Eagles with 21 points, followed by Butters' 19, then Anderson's 12. Coming off the bench, Jaymes Jackson (JR/Brooklyn, N.Y.) had 13 points and Jaylen Granger (SO/Chicago, Ill.) had 11.

Butters' led the Eagles on the boards with 10, followed by King with 8.
