Eagles Tough Out Win Against Eutectics 69-65
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Shackeel Butters (SR/Freeport, Bahamas) and Cortez King (SR/Chicago, Ill.) both notched double-doubles as the Eagles were able to tough out a win against the UHSP Eutectics on Saturday afternoon, 69-65.
The Eagles worked out to a 16-6 lead to start the game, but the Eutectics were able to work it back to a three-point lead. However, the Eagles were able to hold on to the lead for the rest of the half and went into halftime leading 34-27.
Williams pushed the lead to as much as 15 in the second half, but UHSP was able to scratch back and tie the game at 51 with 6:43 left in the game. However, the Eagles quickly retook the lead and never relented.
Butters had a double-double of 19 points and 19 rebounds, while King had a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds.
EJ Anderson (FR/Little Rock, Ark.) had 18 points, while Jaylen Granger (SO/Chicago, Ill.) contributed 10 coming off the bench.
The Eagles shot 38.2% from the field (26-68), 16.7% from the three-point line (4-24), and 65% from the free-throw line (13-20).

With the win, the Eagles are #5 seed in the AMC tournament to be played this week. They will travel to #4 Columbia College on Thursday, Feb. 25 for their matchup.
