Luckey Earns Back-to-Back AMC Defensive Player of the Week Awards
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (1/12/26) – Williams Baptist University men's basketball junior Aseem Luckey was named the American Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row, the league office announced on Monday.
Luckey posted back-to-back double-doubles in a 2-0 week for the Eagles with wins over Crowley's Ridge and UHSP. The Philadelphia, Pa. native dropped 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 107-71 thumping of Crowley's Ridge on Tuesday, then posted 25 points and 18 rebounds against UHSP on Saturday.
Luckey's 18 rebound game on Saturday tied for the third-most rebounds collected in a game in program history at WBU.
Luckey also won AMC Defensive Player of the Week last week following a double-double performance against Rust.
The Eagles are riding a five-game win streak and carry a 6-0 mark at home this season. Next, WBU will kick-off a three-game roadstand at Harris-Stowe on Thursday, Jan. 15. Tipoff against the Hornets is set for 7:30 p.m. in St. Louis, Mo.
