Wesson, Washington Land on Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (1/15/26) – Williams Baptist University men's basketball players Deion Wesson and Jesse Washington were named to the Small College Basketball Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List, the organization announced Thursday afternoon.
The Bevo Francis Award is presented annually to the player who has the finest overall season across Small College Basketball, with considerations made to individual achievements, awards, personal character, and team achievements. NCAA DII, DIII, NAIA, USCAA, and NCCAA players are all considered for the award.
Wesson and Washington have led WBU men's basketball to its best start in modern program history, with an 11-2 record and 6-0 mark at home to begin the season.
Wesson currently ranks third in the NAIA in scoring average at 25.7 points per game, and leads the American Midwest Conference in steals with 41 total.
Washington follows close behind at 12th in the country in scoring average with 23.0 points per game, while having the second-most rebounds per game in the AMC at 8.6.
The Eagles return to the floor on Thursday, Jan. 15 against Harris-Stowe. Tipoff against the Hornets is set for 7:30 p.m. inside Emerson Performance Center in St. Louis, Mo.
