Wesson Named AMC Offensive Player of the Week
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (1/19/26) – Williams Baptist University men's basketball sophomore Deion Wesson was named American Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week for week 11 of the season, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Wesson averaged 30.0 points per game to lead the Eagles to a 2-0 week with road wins over Harris-Stowe and Mission last week.
Wesson dropped 35 points to lead all scorers in a 91-87 comeback victory over Harris-Stowe on Thursday. The Jonesboro, Ark. native followed that up by leading all scorers with 25 points in WBU's 95-85 win over Mission on Saturday.
Wesson leads the AMC in scoring average and ranks third in the NAIA with 26.3 points per game this season. He was also named to the Small College Basketball Bevo Francis Award Top 100 Watch List last week.
Williams is 14-2 on the season and 4-1 in AMC play. Wesson and the Eagles will return to the floor on Wednesday, Jan. 21 on the road against Central Baptist. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. from A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse in Conway, Ark.
