Eagles Power Past Mission on Senior Day

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (2/14/26) – The Williams Baptist University men's basketball team ran away from Mission in the second half to win 111-93 on Senior Day inside the Southerland-Mabee Center on Saturday afternoon.

Before the game, WBU men's basketball recognized seniors Amarion Wilson, Jesse Washington, and Rico Quinton for their hard work and dedication to the program over the past few seasons.

Jesse Washington led the Eagles on offense with 31 points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double.  Deion Wesson followed up with 30 points and tied with Washington for a team-high five assists.  Aseem Luckey posted 21 points and brought down 16 rebounds for a double-double.

As a team, WBU went 42-of-76 (55.3 percent) from the field while holding Mission to 34-of-81 shooting (42.0 percent).  The Eagles dominated down low with 64 points in the paint, and won the rebound battle 54-33.

Mission began the game with an 8-2 run in the first three minutes.  Amarion Wilson knocked down a three to tie the game at 10 two minutes later.

With the game tied at 28-28, Benjamin Noonan hit a three to kick off an 11-1 run to give WBU a 39-29 lead with four minutes left in the first half.  Mission cut the lead to three with a pair of free throws, but a buzzer-beater trey from Deion Wesson put the Eagles ahead 49-43 at the end of the first half.  

WBU outscored the Patriots 16-6 in the first five minutes of the second half to get ahead 65-49.  A layup from Kylen Kelly put the Eagles ahead 80-60 with 11:45 to go, and the Eagles did not look back.  A pair of free throws put WBU over the century mark with 5:58 to play, and WBU cruised to the Senior Day victory after that.

The win moves WBU to 19-4 overall and 9-3 in American Midwest Conference play.  Next, the Eagles will wrap up the home schedule on Thursday, Feb. 19 against Central Baptist.  Tipoff against the Mustangs is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Southerland-Mabee Center.
