Wesson Named NAIA Third Team All-American

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (3/30/26) – Williams Baptist University men's basketball sophomore Deion Wesson was named an NAIA Men's Basketball Third Team All-American, the national office announced Monday morning.

Wesson led Williams with 24.2 points per game in 27 starts, finishing the season ranked fourth in the nation in scoring average. His 678 points scored are the second-most by a player in a single season in school history, second only to Jeremy Bell's 799 points in 2003-04.  He scored 30 or more points in a game 11 times this season.

The sophomore shot 42.4 percent from the field and knocked down 35.3 percent of his shots from three-point range.

The Jonesboro, Ark. native led WBU to its highest win total in program history at 22 victories.  He was also named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Year.

Wesson is the first All-American for WBU men's basketball since Shackeel Butters earned the honor in 2018.
