ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The (18) Williams men's soccer team defeated the (RV) Missouri Baptist Spartans 1-0 on Saturday night.
The first half was a very defensive affair, with both back lines keeping the opposing offenses in check. The only real threat that the Eagles got in the first half came in the 12th minute when Gabriel Otero hit the cross bar with his shot.
The Eagles came out hot in the second half though, and Fernando Paya was able to find the back of the net off a pass from Jacobo Obradors just 80 seconds into the half. The goal proved to be enough to lift the Eagles over the Spartans, though Missouri Baptist gave it their best shot at equalizing the game.
Alejandro Perez played the full game in the net for the Eagles and collected one save in the game.
