Three Eagles Named NAIA Honorable Mention All-Americans
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - For the first time in program history, three Eagles have been named to the NAIA Honorable Mention All-America team: Alejandro Perez, Lucas Camilo, and Jacobo Obradors.
The NAIA All-America committee consists of the NAIA-Men's Soccer Coaches Association Executive Committee, the National Championship Games Committee and four men's soccer coaches. Each team – first, second and third – consists of 11 members and the honorable mention teams.
"I am incredibly proud of these guys and their achievements this year. It's a great honor having this kind of athletes at our program. They are special players and I am very happy to see their names on the list and honor the hard work they have put in this season," Head Coach Gabriel Sitibaldi remarked.
Perez led the team in the net this season while recording a program record 10 shutouts. He collected 53 saves and only allowed 11 goals in the season, a save percentage of .828.
Camilo, the reigning AMC Player of the year, started all 20 games for the Eagles. He finished with two goals and two assists this season but his contributions in each match did not always show up in the box score. He continuously made it tough on opposing teams trying to find the back of the net against the Eagles.
Obradors finished his campaign with seven goals and two assists on the year after starting 19 games for the Eagles.
