Obradors and Pina Claim AMC Player of the Week Honors

Williams Baptist University senior Jacobo Obradors and junior Rodrigo Pina were named the American Midwest Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for their performances against Texas A&M-Texarkana and LSU-Alexandria last week.

Obradors earned AMC Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring three goals to help the Eagles go 2-0 on the week. He found the back of the net two times against Texas A&M-Texarkana as WBU cruised to a 4-1 victory. The Madrid, Spain native then provided the only goal of the afternoon against LSU-A on Saturday to help propel Williams to a key road victory. 

Pina allowed just one goal in two contests, including a clean sheet against LSU-A as Williams improved its record to 2-1-0 on the young season. He also had two penalty saves on the week, including one in the 90th minute against LSU-A that helped preserve the win. The other came against TAMUT in the early stages of the game when the match was scoreless and momentum could have swung in the other direction with an early goal.
