Obradors Tabbed AMC Player of the Year

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (11/6/24) – Williams Baptist soccer senior Jacobo Obradors was named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Year after a career season as the league office announced its postseason awards on Wednesday morning.

Obradors becomes the third Eagle in as many years to win the award, joining Hugo Gil and Lucas Camilo as the only Eagles to win the award.  He broke WBU school records for goals in a single-season with 18, and goals in a career with 65.  He also tallied three assists with a shot on goal percentage of .580.

Obradors, Gil, and Rodrigo Pina were all named to the AMC All-Conference First Team, while Ignacio Jansen, Pedro Paulo, and Carlos Aedo captured second-team honors.  Colin Haupt was named to the AMC Champions of Character Team.

Williams Baptist will begin its postseason journey today, Wednesday Nov. 9 in the quarterfinal round of the American Midwest Conference Tournament against Hannibal-LaGrange.  Kick-off is set for 1 p.m. from the WBU Soccer Field on the campus of Williams Baptist University.
