Eagles Break Multiple School Records at Samford Open

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Williams men's & women's indoor track & field teams competed at the Samford Open this past Saturday, with three Lady Eagles breaking multiple school records.

On the men's side:

• Ralph Iweriebor finished 42nd in the 200m (24.23) 
• Lamont Evans finished 51st in the 200m (25.45); 44th in the 400m (57.12)
• Jason Detrick finished 53rd in the 200m (25.67)
• Nick Powell finished 32nd in the 400m (53.51); 32nd in the long jump (5.44m)
• Byron Lewis finished 39th in the 400m (55.88)
• Aitor Mateo finished 35th in the 800m (2:19.20)
• Karlis Smith finished 42nd in the 800m (2:31.66)
• Gage Blankenship finished 43rd in the 800m (2:34.51)
• Will Martin finished 35th in the high jump (4.29m)
• Jacob Short finished 10th in the shot put (12.80m)
• Tucker Coleman finished 12th in the shot put (12.46m)

On the women's side:

• Miracle Holmes finished 46th in the 200m (30.03)
• Hope Cram finished 37th in the 400m (1:06.93)
• Allyson Marlow finished 41st in the 400m (1:10.87); 10th in the trip jump (10.10m)
• Madison Mittag finished 44th in the 400m (1:16.41)
• Mikey Larson finished 9th in the 800m (2:31.40) [School Record]; 16th in the mile (5:42.93) [School Record] 
• Ali Ward finished 17th in the 800m (2:50.54)
• Dani Barstead finished 18th in the 800m (2:52.31)
• Kyia Weisbrod finished 12th in the 3000m (11:54.30) [School Record]; 6th in the 5000m (20:34.25) [School Record]
• Hannah Baker finished 7th in the shot put (11.80m) [School Record]; 11th in the weight throw (13.86m) [School Record]
• Calista Christian finished 29th in the shot put (8.93m)
• Kady Greer finished 33rd in the shot put (8.23m); 25th in the weight throw (9.24m)
