Fraley Named NAIA Wrestler of the Week
Walnut Ridge, Ark. - Williams Baptist College wrestler Tyler Fraley (JR/Freehold, N.J.) was named NAIA National Wrestler of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. Fraley won the honor on the back of winning the Missouri Valley Invitational, and being named Most Outstanding Wrestler of the event.
The honors are piling up for the all-american, as he swept through the 141 lb. class at the invitation by winning six matches, including four against
ranked opponents. The top ranked wrestler of his weight class helped the ninth ranked Eagles to an eighth place finish in the competition.
This is the first wrestler WBC has had to win the honor, and the first time that the school has had someone win a national weekly award since Eagles softball pitcher Karisa Hendrix won in 2011.
The Eagles will look to use Fraley's momentum heading into this weekend's American Midwest Conference Championship. These will be played at the Southerland-Mabee Center in Walnut Ridge, as the team is looking for its second consecutive crown.
