Wrestling Competes at MoVal Invite

Walnut Ridge, Ark. - The (RV) Williams Baptist University wrestling team traveled to Marshall, Mo. this past weekend to compete at the Missouri Valley College Invitational. The Eagles finished in 27th place overall and were led by AJ Bindner's eighth-place individual finish.

Bindner led the team with 13 team points. He finished in eighth place in the 149 lb. bracket. He won one match via fall, one technical fall, one major decision, one decision and one medical forfeit.

In the 141 lb. bracket, Nicholas Souder earned six team points. Souder won one match each by fall, technical fall and decision. Following him was Maleek Caton who earned 5.5 points in the 285 lb. class. He scored one victory each by fall, major decision and decision.

Jaitlan Pitts' scored one victory by fall and two by decision in the 133 lb. weight division to earn 4.5 points for the team. Meanwhile, Joshua Tyler earned 2.5 points in the 174 lb. class and Kole Meador earned one point in the 165 lb. division.

Next up, the Eagles host Missouri Baptist University in an American Midwest Conference dual on Thursday, January 23. The match will start at 5 p.m.
