Eagles Wrestling Places Fourth at CBC Invitational

CONWAY, Ark. - Williams Baptist wrestling placed fourth out of eight teams at the CBC Invitational on Saturday.

The Eagles' score of 56.5 placed them ahead of Cumberland (Tenn.), Brewton-Parker (Ga.), Oklahoma Wesleyan, and Central Baptist.

Grand View (Iowa) won the tournament, followed by Life University in second, and Texas Wesleyan in third.

In the 157 weight class, Joshua Tyler (SR/Springdale, Ark.) placed third and defeated three out of four opponents. He won the third place match in a 3-1 decision over his opponent from Brewton-Parker.

In the 165 weight class, Gavin Wells (SR/Poplar Bluff, Mo.) placed fourth and won two of his matches. He fell in the third place match by fall to his opponent from Texas Wesleyan.

In the 184 weight class, Daryus Webb (SO/St. Louis, MO) placed fourth and two of his matches. He fell in the third place match by a sudden victory -1 to his opponent from Life University.

In the 285 weight class, Maleek Caton (SR/Sheridan, AR) won his class by defeating his teammate Devon Amburgy (SR/Lebanon, OH) in the first place match by a 11-8 decision.
