Wrestling Wins Fourth AMC Team Championship

CONWAY, Ark. - Williams Baptist wrestling captured its fourth American Midwest Conference Championship on Saturday with a team score of 158.5, sixty-two points over the second place finisher.

Robert Fairchild (JR/Metarie, La.) won the 125 lb class with a win by fall over his opponent from Lincoln College.

Josh Wright (JR/St. Louis, Mo.) and Isaiah Vizcarrondo (FR/Philadelphia, PA) squared off in the 133 lb class final, with Wright defeating Vizcarrondo by a 3-2 decision.

Johnny Baldwin (FR/Malvern, AR) came in second in the 141 lb class. He fell to his opponent from Central Baptist by fall in the first place match.

Nick Souder won the 149 lb class by an injury default over his opponent.

Gavin Wells (SR/Poplar Bluff, Mo.) placed second in the 165 lb class. He fell to his opponent by a 3-1 decision in the title match, and defeated his opponent by a 12-4 major decision in the second place match.

Isaiah Sellers (JR/Columbus, Ga.) won the 184 lb class by defeating his opponent by a 3-2 decision.

Niko Perovic and Daryus Webb (SO/St. Louis, MO) squared off in the 184 lb class final, with Perovic defeating Webb by a 6-0 decision.

Joel Anguiano came in second in the 197 lb class. He won the second place match by a 7-5 decision over his opponent.

Maleek Caton (SR/Sheridan, AR) and Devon Amburgy (SR/Lebanon, OH) squared off in the 285 lb class final, which Caton won by a 5-3 decision.
