Gillette Named AMC Pitcher of the Week

St. Louis, Mo. – Angel Gillette of Williams Baptist (Ark.) has been selected as the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Softball Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday. She was selected from nominees submitted by each institution based on their performances from February 13 through February 19 and chosen through a vote of Sports Information Directors from around the AMC.

The first NAIA Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards will be announced on Feb. 28.

• Went 2-1 on the week in the circle.
• Racked up two complete-game victories.
• Struck out 18 hitters, including 12 against Arkansas Baptist.
• Tossed a no-hitter against Arkansas Baptist.
