Shoebottom Named Third Team NAIA All-American
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (6/4/23) – Williams Baptist softball infielder Madyson Shoebottom continues to rake in awards after being named an NAIA Third Team All-America selection on Tuesday morning.
The American Midwest Conference Player of the Year earned national recognition after clubbing 10 homers for the Lady Eagles while only striking out five times on the season.
Shoebottom hit to the tune of a .432 average and a .735 slugging percentage, while driving in 52 runs in a 37 win season for WBU.
Shoebottom tied for the fourth most hits in a season (70), third most doubles in a season (15), and set the second highest SLG% in a season for Williams Baptist.
"Madyson's hard work and determination is something I noticed while she was playing travel ball and trying to recruit her out of high school," said WBU Head Coach Jessica Nutt. "Not only is she a great athlete, she is a great human being and we are happy she is an Eagle and has two more years!"
Shoebottom becomes the first Eagle to be named an NAIA All-American since the 2013 season.
