Lady Eagles Suffer AMC Tournament Loss to Mustangs
CONWAY, Ark. (5/1/25) – The Williams Baptist University softball team saw its American Midwest Conference Tournament run come to an end after a 4-0 loss to Central Baptist on Thursday afternoon.
Williams (34-14, 16-6 AMC) will await word on a potential at-large bid to the NAIA Softball Tournament. The NAIA Softball Selection Show is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7 at 5 p.m.
Madyson Busselle (2-4) and Breann Thresher (2-4) led the way for the Lady Eagles at the plate.
Central Baptist got its first run on a solo home run from Abi West in the bottom of the second, which proved to be the difference. CBC went on to add three more runs in the sixth.
WBU sent the tying run to the plate with the bases loaded in the top of the seventh, but were unable to push any runs across to keep the game alive and fell 4-0.
Morgan Garner (15-5) took the loss in the circle after throwing 6.0 innings with four strikeouts. Alex Jeter (16-8) earned the win for CBC, while Isabella Sawyers (3) pitched the save.
