WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams women's soccer team dropped their home opener to the LSU-Alexandria Generals by a score of 9-2 on Saturday afternoon.

Maryn Jones got the scoring started in the 8th minute when she scored off a pass from Livvie Campbell. The Generals would go on to score five goals to give themselves a 5-1 lead. Thaina Cavalcante got a goal back for the Lady Eagles, when she fired home a high ball that sailed over the keeper's head in the 67th minute. 

The Lady Eagles finished with eight shots and five on goal. 

Paige Strode played 81 minutes in the goal for the Lady Eagles and had four saves on 13 shots on goal.

The Lady Eagles travel to Freed-Hardeman on Tuesday, Aug. 30 for a midweek matchup against the Lady Lions. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
