Alvarado’s Hat Trick Leads Lady Eagles to Record-Breaking Win

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark.  (9/20/25) – The Williams Baptist University women's soccer broke its program single-season record for wins in a 3-1 victory over Bethel on Saturday afternoon from the WBU Soccer Field.

Yajaira Alvarado scored all three goals in the win, bringing her season total to 14.  Alvarado currently leads the NAIA in goals this season, and has tied the WBU record for goals in a season.

As a team, WBU was out-shot 31-6.  Neveah Larkins made 15 saves in 90 minutes between the posts to hold Bethel to one score in the match.

Alvarado's first score came in the 18th minute with an assist from Megan Sharp.  She scored again in the 26th to put Williams up 2-0 with an assist from Valentina Marin.

Bethel scored its lone goal in the 35th to cut the lead in half, but Alvarado responded just 44 seconds later to put Williams back up by two scores.

Bethel put two shots on goal in the final two minutes of play, but Larkins saved both to secure the match.

The win moves WBU to 7-2-0 on the season.  The victory sets a new record for the most wins in a single season in program history.  The previous record was six, held by the 2016 squad.

The Lady Eagles will return to the pitch to wrap up non-conference play on Tuesday, Sep. 23 against Freed-Hardeman.  Kick-off is set for noon from the WBU Soccer Field.
