Lady Eagles Break Multiple Records at Principia Quad Meet
Jordyn Minifie was able to claim 3 individual records for the team rebreaking her 200 Free(1:59.45), 50 fly(28.53), and 100 fly(1:01.27) records. She also inched closer to her 400 IM record, missing it by only .05 of a second.
Lillie Guth finally claimed her first individual record and followed it up immediately to grab a second. Lillie broke the record in the 100 Back (1:05.63) and 200 Back(2:25.94) as well as unofficially broke the 50 back as well before the split was lost.
Also claiming their first individual record was Taryn Harper. Taryn broke the 200 Breast with a time of 2:41.93 but believes she has more in the tank to improve it even further!
The Lady Eagles had a meet for relays as well claiming 4 new records and a first in the nation?
200 Medley Relay of Guth, Minifie, Harper, and Scherman dropped the record by an astounding 5 and a half seconds going 1:55.40.
200 Freestyle Relay of Scherman, Minifie, Harper, and Bethell lowered the record by 2 and a half seconds going 1:45.45
400 Medley Relay of Guth, Minifie, Harper, and Scherman lowered the record by a whopping 12 seconds in their gold medal performance of 4:18.47
The Lady Eagles Relay Team of Guth Harper, Bethell, and scherman also progressed the 400 Freestyle with a 3:26.90 progressing the record from 4:01.13. This 3.26.90 has them as the first team in the nation in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
The Lady Eagles meet scores were as follows:
WBU 153- Sterling College 91.00
WBU 167- Principia College 74.00
WBU 173- Lincoln College 72.00
Coach Todd when asked about the meet said, "We had a handful of breakout swims. We have been dancing around some of those records for over a year. I am glad we were able to come together as a team and show out."
