Lady Eagles Win Two on Saturday

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams Baptist volleyball team defeated Cottey College 3-1 on Saturday and then defeated the Henderson State JV team in a exhibition match in five sets.

Game One

The Lady Eagles dropped a close first set to the Comets as they played from behind for the entire set. In the second set, the Lady Eagles jumped out to a 12-3 lead and never looked back winning the set 25-12. The Lady Eagles took the third set after going on a ten point run. The fourth set was much closer with the Lady Eagles pulling away at the end.

Breauna Moore (FR/Jonesboro, Ark.) led the team with 16 kills, while Molly Henson (SO/Wynne, Ark.) had 12. Monica Guerrero (SR/Teague, Texas) led the team with 19 digs.

Game Two

The Lady Eagles defeated the JV team from Henderson State in five sets in an exhibition match. They dropped the first set 25-19, but rallied to win the second set 25-13 and the third set 25-23. They dropped the fourth set 25-16 to force the fifth set. They played from behind until they tied it 10-10. They led for the rest of the way. Moore hit the game-winning kill with an assist from Sidney Burgin.

Moore led the team with 19 kills, while Henson had 11. Elaine Blackmon (FR/Mountain Home, Ark.) led the team with 35 digs.
