BRANSON, Mo. (8/29/25) – The Williams Baptist University volleyball team fell in both matches it played on Friday in the first half of the College of the Ozarks Classic in Branson, Mo.
WBU fell to the host team College of the Ozarks 3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-6) in the first match of the day.
Tinleigh Ruhman led the team with four kills on a .143 hitting percentage. Amber Kahler collected five assists.
A kill from Tinleigh Ruhman tied the first set at 5-5 early, but the Bobcats went on a 12-3 to take the set and get ahead 1-0. Ozarks continued its hot streak, beginning the second set on a 12-4 run to the frame 25-8. The Bobcats finished the match on a 13-1 to conclude the dominant win.
Williams fell to Avila 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-14) in the second match of the tournament.
Payton Bond and Tinleigh Ruhman tied for the team lead in kills with five each.
The Lady Eagles will return to the court Saturday, Aug. 30 for the second day of the College of the Ozarks Classic. WBU will face Saint Mary at 1 p.m. and Mid-America Christian at 3:30 p.m.
