Eagles Fall to Panthers in Road Finale
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (11/4/25) – The Williams Baptist University volleyball team dropped its final road contest of the season against Philander Smith by the final score of 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-16) on Tuesday night.
Alicea Epherson, Natalie Collier, and Tinleigh Ruhman all tied for the team-lead in kills on the night with six each. On the back row, Hope Raymond, Faith Raymond, and Desirae Walker all paced the squad with 11 digs each, and Walker posted 12 digs in the contest.
As a team, WBU put up 26 kills, 26 assists, and 47 digs.
WBU took an early 7-4 lead in the first set behind the strong serve of Amber Kahler, but the Panthers went on a 12-2 run to take a 14-9 lead in the frame. A service ace by Faith Raymond closed the gap to 22-18, but PSU took the final three points to close out the set win.
Philander Smith controlled the match the rest of the way, taking the second set 25-13 and the third set 25-16 to take the win.
Next, the Lady Eagles will conclude the 2025 campaign at home against Crowley's Ridge on Thursday, Nov. 6. The match is set for a 5 p.m. start from inside the Southerland-Mabee Center.
