Eagles Down Eutectics in Final Regular Season Match

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (11/1/25) – The Williams Baptist University men's soccer team defeated UHSP in its final match of the 2025 regular season by the final score of 5-0 on Saturday afternoon.

WBU dominated possession in the win, outshooting UHSP 45-2, with 23 shots on goal.

Ricardo Da Silva got the Eagles on the board in the 10th minute with an assist from Lucas Bellinello.  WBU put five more shots on goal afterwards, but were unable to add on to the lead before the halftime whistle.

In the second half, Jhevan Smith netted the second goal of the day with an assist from Alvaro Moran in the 58th minute.  Then, Williams added goals from Artur Kataoka in the 70th and Alvaro Moran (Ricardo Da Silva) in the 75th to extend the lead to 4-0.  Tom Stahlke capped off the win with the fifth goal of the day in the 88th minute.

John Smith earned the win between the posts with no save opportunities in 80 minutes.  Joshua Sanchez played the final 10 minutes of the game in goal for WBU in his first appearance of the season.

The win moves Williams to 7-7-2 overall and 5-1-0 in American Midwest Conference play, good for a second place finish in the AMC standings.  

The Eagles earned a bye into the semifinal round of the AMC Tournament.  WBU will host the winner of Harris-Stowe and Mission at home on Saturday, Nov. 8 in the semifinals.  Kick-off time is currently to be announced.
