WGOLF Tournament Preview: American Midwest Conference Championship (April 27-28)
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (4/24/26) – The Williams Baptist University women's golf team will compete in the American Midwest Conference Women's Golf Championship at Cooper's Hawk Golf Course in Melbourne, Ark. on April 27-28.
The AMC Championship returns to Melbourne for the second consecutive year. The event is scheduled for 36 holes with 18 on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
WBU finished sixth in the event last season. Kendra Harness led the way with a third place individual finish on a two round score of 156 (81-75). Grace Woody followed up in fourth with a two-round card of 157 (79-78).
The Lady Eagles are in search of their first AMC title in program history.
As a team, Williams enters the tournament ranked 85th in the NAIA according to Clippd with a head-to-head record of 16-6-0. The Eagles are the second highest rated team in the AMC behind Columbia (57th). WBU has four tournament wins and seven top ten finishes.
The Lady Eagles land three golfers in the top 10 in stroke average this season. Kendra Harness leads the team in third place with an average score of 83.8. Mariana Bonilla follows in fourth with a stroke average of 83.9, and Grace Woody lands in seventh with an average round of 87.3.
Kendra Harness leads the way with two tournament wins this season at the CBC Fall Invite and the CBC Spring Invite. Katie Fish took home gold at the WBU Fall Invitational, and Mariana Bonilla notched her lone individual win at the Fremont Hills Classic.
The winning team will secure an automatic bid to the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship at Eagle Crest Golf Club in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The individual champion will also receive a bid if she is not a member of the conference champion team.
Round one of the AMC Championship is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Round two will start at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available on Clippd Scoreboard.
