Bonilla, Harness Lead WBU to Second Place Finish at AMC Championship
MELBOURNE, Ark. (4/30/26) – The Williams Baptist University women's golf team concluded its season with a second place finish at the American Midwest Conference Women's Golf Championship at Cooper's Hawk Golf Course this week.
The Lady Eagles finished with a two-round team score of 656 (325-331), 24 strokes ahead of second place UHSP. Columbia captured first place in the event.
Mariana Bonilla led the way for WBU with a second place finish on a two-round score of 152 (76-76). Kendra Harness followed up in fourth place with a two-round total of 158 (78-80).
Grace Woody finished just outside the top ten in 11th place with a two-round card of 169 (81-88), and Katie Fish finished in 13th with a score of 177 (90-87).
Gabi Harmon rounded out the squad in 14th place with a final score of 184 (93-91).
After the tournament was over, the AMC announced its 2025-26 award winners:
Mariana Bonilla was named AMC Freshman of the Year. She's the first Eagle to earn the honor since her teammate Kendra Harness earned the honor in 2023.
Harness and Bonilla were both named to the AMC All-Conference First Team, while Grace Woody was named to the AMC All-Conference Second Team. Katie Fish picked up an AMC All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Grace Woody was chosen as WBU's representative to the AMC Champions of Character Team. The award recognizes student-athletes who best represent the NAIA's Five Core Values of Integrity, Responsibility, Respect, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.
