WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams volleyball team defeated the Rust College Bearcats in straight sets on Saturday afternoon.
The whole match was a close, evenly matched affair. The Lady Eagles took the first set 25-22 after going on a 3-0 run to end the set. Rust went on a 6-1 run to start the second set, but the Lady Eagles dug deep and battled back to make 8-8. From that point it was back-and-forth like the first set until, again the Lady Eagles went on a 3-0 run to end the second set and win 25-21. Williams went on a 7-0 run to end the third set and win 25-16.
Molly Henson led the team with eight kills. Sydney Burgin had 11 assists in the game, while Hope Raymond had 13 digs.
