Lady Eagles Win Five Set Thriller Over UHSP
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams volleyball team defeat the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy Eutectics in five sets on Friday night.
The Lady Eagles and the Eutectics were close to start the first set until the Lady Eagles went on a run and built out a lead over UHSP that the Eutectics couldn't overcome. The Lady Eagles won the set 25-21.
The Eutectics responded in the second set and led the set the entire way. They won 25-16. They started the third set on a terrific run to lead Williams 15-5. From there, the Lady Eagles worked themselves back into the set when they went on a couple of mini runs of their own. They came back and tied it 23-23, but the Eutectics took the last two points to take the set.
Williams responded by winning the fourth set 25-23 to force a decisive fifth set. The Lady Eagles started the fifth set on a tear to lead the Eutectics 11-3. UHSP scored a few more points, but the Lady Eagles took the set 15-7 to win the match.
Molly Henson led the team with 14 kills, while Jessica Burger finished with 12. Sydney Burgin finished with 28 assists, while Laykin Harkcom had 22. Hope Raymond had 34 digs in the match.
