Clark's Career Night Leads Lady Eagles Past Pioneers

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - A career high of 37 points from Kaylee Clark led the Lady Eagles past the Crowley's Ridge College Pioneers 82-67 on Thursday night.

The game started out as a close affair that saw the Lady Eagles leading 17-16 after the first quarter. To start the second quarter, the Pioneers went on a 6-0 run to start the quarter. The Lady Eagles worked back to tie the game and take the lead on a pair of free throws from Italei Gray with 3:06 left in the quarter. The teams traded baskets and the Pioneers went on a 5-0 run to end the quarter and lead 35-30 going into halftime. 

The Pioneers continued to lead the Lady Eagles by five with 7:05 left in the third quarter. Then Zahriya Baker, Clark, and then Baker again made baskets to give the Lady Eagles the lead back. The Pioneers quickly made a basket, but Clark converted a pair of free-throws to put Williams back in front. The Lady Eagles then made some more free-throws and a couple of baskets to take a 56-53 at the end of the third quarter. 

The Lady Eagles poured it on in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Pioneers 26-14. 

Williams shot 47.2% from the field (34-72), 3-12 from the three-point line (25%), and 45.8% from the free throw line (11-24). 

Clark led all scorers with 37 points. Gray finished with 13 points, while Abby Hodges had 10. 

Gray led the team with eight rebounds. Hodges also finished with eight assists, while Gray had six.

The Lady Eagles start AMC play on Thursday, Nov. 17 when they travel to Columbia, Mo. for a game against Columbia College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
