FULTON, Mo. - Monica Horne collected her sixth double-double of the season, while Italei Gray notched her first of the season in the Lady Eagles 63-58 win over the William Woods Owls on Thursday night.
The Lady Eagles had a 15-13 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Owls outscored them 18-12 in the second quarter to take a four-point lead into halftime. Williams came out hot in the third quarter and went on an 11-2 run in the middle of the quarter to give themselves a 41-40 lead. The Lady Eagles would take a 48-44 lead into the final 10 minutes of play. The Lady Eagles built themselves out a 60-51 lead with 4:22 remaining in the game. The Owls cut the lead down to four points in the dying seconds of the game, but the Lady Eagles were able to hang on and get the win.
Horne finished with 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Gray finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Kaylee Clark led the team with 15 points, while Nijah Moore was also in double figures with 10.
