Lady Eagles Take Down Owls 80-66

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams women's basketball team defeated the William Woods Owls 80-66 on Thursday night in their final regular season home game of the season.

It was a tight first quarter that saw the Lady Eagles only leading by one, but they turned up the intensity in the second quarter and outscored the Owls 21-15 en route to a 43-36 halftime lead. Williams continued to play with intensity in the second half and never let the Owls back into the game. 

Williams shot 46.2% from the field (30-65), 31.8% from the three-point line (7-22), and 81.23% from the free-throw line (13-16). 

Kaylee Clark led the team with 23 points. Tristan Richards contributed 19, while Nijah Moore had 13 and Carson Defries had 12.

Richards led the team on the boards with seven. Reesa Hampton had seven assists in the contest.

The Lady Eagles round out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 18 as they travel to Columbia, Mo. for a matchup against Stephens College. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
