Williams Offense Explodes in 117-54 Win Over Harris-Stowe

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (11/21/24) – Every Eagle scored as the Williams Baptist University women's basketball team put up the second-most points in a game in program history in its 117-54 win over Harris-Stowe State on Thursday night inside the Southerland-Mabee Center.

Kaylee Isaacs led the team with 21 points on a 5-for-8 clip in 16 minutes.  Charmen Taylor, Monica Horne, Nijah Moore, and Sara Crowe also all finished in the double digits in scoring.  Horne also took the team lead in rebounds with eight boards on the night.

The Eagles shot a scorching 59.8 percent from the field on 49-for-82, the most field goals made in a conference game in program history, while holding the Hornets to just 31.1 percent on 19-for-61.  WBU also had 28 steals in the ballgame, the second-most takeaways in a game in program history.

Williams took the lead on a 19-4 run capped off by a Kaylee Isaacs triple, and never looked back.  The Eagles shot 74.1 percent on 20-for-27 in the first quarter of the game to take a 44-12 lead at the quarter break.

The Eagles stayed hot at the start of the second quarter with a 10-2 run to begin the frame.  Williams went 11-for-16 from the field in the stanza to take a 79-22 lead into halftime.

WBU eclipsed the century mark on a Cortayza Flowers layup for a 100-39 lead in the fourth quarter.  A Zahriya Baker jumper with 1:24 left gave WBU its largest lead of the night at 117-51.  WBU dribbled out the last minute and took home the first conference win of the season.

Williams' record jumps to 3-1 on the year and 1-0 in AMC play.  WBU will return to the floor on Saturday, Nov. 23 against William Woods.  Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. inside the Southerland-Mabee Center on the campus of Williams Baptist University.
