Eagles Take Program-Record 11th Road Win in 109-90 Win Over UHSP

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (2/7/26) – The Williams Baptist University women's basketball team took a 109-90 win on the road over the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy inside the UHSP Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

Cha'Myrean Ellis led the Lady Eagles with 34 points on 15-of-25 shooting.  Her 15 field goals ties the WBU record for most field goals in a single-game, held twice by Kaylee Isaacs (Feb. 11, 2025 & Nov. 10, 2022) and Carmen Taylor (Dec. 28, 2022).

Cortayza Flowers followed up with a season-high 26 points off the bench.  Sara Crowe finished with 19, and Joi Montgomery posted a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds.  Montgomery also led the team in assists, just one short of a triple-double with nine on the night.

As a team, WBU went 45-of-83 (54.2 percent) from the field while holding UHSP to just 30-of-75 (40.0 percent).  The Eutectics let it fly from deep, going 14-of-27 (51.9 percent) from three-point range.  Williams won the rebound battle 44-26 and scored 26 points off turnovers.  The game featured six ties and 12 lead changes.

UHSP took the lead out of the gate with an 8-2 run in the first three minutes.  Williams ended the first quarter on an 11-0 run to hold a 25-17 advantage at the end of the period.

The Eutectics stormed back to take a 31-29 lead with 6 minutes left in the second quarter, but the Eagles ended the half on a 10-6 swing to lead the game 48-44 at halftime.

Williams dominated the third quarter, out-scoring UHSP 32-11 out of the locker room.  After UHSP cut the lead to 54-51 with a jumper, WBU went on a 26-2 run that included holding UHSP scoreless for almost six minutes to go ahead by 27 points.

The Eutectics scored 35 points in the fourth quarter, but WBU kept pace to quench the rally and take the road win.

The victory moves Williams to 18-4 overall and 12-2 in AMC play.  The win also gives WBU 11 road victories on the season, its highest single-season total in modern program history.  The Lady Eagles return to the court on Thursday, Feb. 12 at home against Harris-Stowe.  Tipoff against the Hornets is set for 5:30 p.m. inside the Southerland-Mabee Center.
