Williams Raises Over $1,000 to American Cancer Society
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (4/6/26) – The Williams Baptist University athletic department has announced that it raised $1,530 for the American Cancer Society during the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers Week.
Williams raised money through a bake sale and T-Shirt sales at women's basketball home games in January.
WBU also added a donation for each three-pointer made by an Eagle during the games.
"The Coaches vs. Cancer program is about so much more than what happens on the court; it's about a collective fight against a disease that has touched almost every one of our lives," said WBU Athletic Director Mitch Mathis. "I am incredibly proud of our Lady Eagles basketball team and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for raising over $1,500. This is a testament to the character of our student-athletes and the generosity of the Williams community."
